Nutritious horse supplements are needed these days as never before. In the old days, when the soil was nurtured, natural horse supplements were not necessary in most parts of the world. Even when the soils were poor, good natural husbandry would ensure adequate fertility.

However, in the last few decades, when the focus has been diverted away from good soil management, soils have become dangerously depleted. So much so that little nutrition is now taken up by plants. They may look wonderful. But they are not nutritious. What is taken up is terribly out of natural balance, as the artificial fertilisers only replace some of the macro minerals.

Yet soil ecology is delicate. A healthy soil is not only teeming with micro organisms, it also has a diverse range of both micro and macro minerals and other essential nutrients. No plant can provide healthy nutrition to horses if the soil it was grown on is out of natural balance.

Sadly, most soils these days are dead soils, with no life in them at all. Apart from organic pastures, your horses diet is unlikely to provide them with the nutrition they need, especially the high performance horses.

Many ailments, including serious conditions such as weak or splitting hooves, lack of energy, inability to keep weight on, diabetes, even cancer, can all have their root cause in a deficiency in the diet. This is even the case when the horse looks and appears to be healthy.

There is little point in considering any form of health treatment when the diet could be the cause.

There are many horse supplements on the market. They are commonly available from any stockists of horse feed. However, the majority are made in a laboratory. This means they will be synthetic. Synthetic nutrients are not in natural balance. It is virtually impossible for your horse to properly digest and make use of synthetic nutrients. It’s not how they evolved.

Add to this, most synthetic nutrients are in isolation. You can purchase any individual vitamin, mineral or any other nutrient, on its own. But these are fragments of food. To get the full benefit of these nutrients, they need to be in natural balance. For example, calcium is co-dependent on phosphorus, magnesium, sodium potassium, vitamin A and D, to mention only a few.

Even naturally occurring minerals cannot be properly digested. Minerals are meant to fertilise the soil. The plants grown on this mineral rich and vibrantly alive soil will ensure the plants are rich in nutrients. This is easily digested and used by horses. And the result is great and lasting health.

When nutrients are out of natural balance, they cannot be properly utilised by the body. At best, they pass through the horse unused. At worst, they can hang up in parts of the body when they have no business to be. For example kidney stones are considered by many, to be caused by high levels of synthetic calcium supplements.

Food is complex. Human knowledge is a work in progress. Instead of feeding isolated and synthetic supplements to your horse, which may cause long term harm, is it not better to feed a natural product, one that nature created herself? A natural supplement will be balanced. It will contain all the nutrients, in a natural form, to allow for full digestion and utilisation.

There are few supplements around that are totally natural, totally not created or ‘enhanced’ by man, that are wild crafted and concentrated in a superfood form. Those that are, are normally reserved for humans.

However, this supplement answers to all these requirements and is ideal for horses.
